8/7/2023 0 Comments Passenger locator form++++ TIPS - PLANNING YOUR FLIGHTS +++++++.++++ ESTA (USA) and eTA (Canada) requirements for visa-exempt foreign nationals ++++.Covid-19 Coronavirus Information for Air Travel.++++ COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION ++++.(Hoping to fly end this week & return next.) So if anyone does find out more I'd be interested. And it probably won't say what new measures or checks airlines are told to do at the foreign airports for flights to UK. I'll keep my eye on the govt's website but as it doesn't actually show you the full current questions, it might not display any new ones inserted. Whereas I haven't heard of any plf-related trouble with (say) Ryanair or Easyjet at Turkish or Greek or Italian airports on the way back. ![]() So far, the only examples I've read about people being refused boarding for PLF reasons have been outward flights from UK airports, where some airline staff have over interpreted the plf requirements of the destination country. (Although the wider context of Bojo's speech was about clamping down and tightening up - which both his allies and his opponents seem to want him to do.) Re Tom's point, I look forward to being pleasantly surprised when the new PLF (& checks on it) turn out to be pleasant/helpful from the passenger standpoint. Ideally we would be allowed to submit the return form a couple of weeks in advance, ie from home before leaving on holiday, with an opportunity to log in and amend it later in the event of BA changing the return flight etc. Re the 48 hours, I take the point (from Paula C) that it's up to 48 hours before arrival in UK, rather than 48 hours before the flight, but this makes the available 'window ' ( for finding working wifi etc) slightly tighter rather than easier. My thanks to contributors above who have explained that there is a seat question on the form but it's optional. The 'take measures' phrase is ominous, from the traveller standpoint. " We will 'simplify' the passenger locator form needed for travelling to the UK, and take measures to ensure these are completed and checked before departure." More general question: does anyone know what changes will result from the following announcement about the UK PLF? It was included within a speech by the prime minister on 9 September about clamping down on covid generally. Is the question optional? If not, what happens if you dont know the seat number till you check in/bag drop at the airport? (You can't leave it that late to submit the online form.) I gather there's a question asking your seat number (on the aircraft flying to the UK). ![]() And you can't submit it early, you can only do it up to 48 hours before your flight (back) to UK, when you might not have reliable internet or wifi signal.Ĭan anyone help with the following questions please? The UK PLF is a problem, partly because you can't print the questions or view them in advance.
